The Role and Effectiveness of Electronic Journalism in Informing and Educating University Students: A Descriptive and Analytical Study on a Random Sample of Syrian Students in Sudanese Universities

Abstract

 The study aimed to know the effectiveness of electronic journalism in educating the university student, a descriptive and analytical study on a random sample of Syrian students in Sudanese universities, and what is the role that electronic journalism plays in influencing young people, and the relationship of young people with new media. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach and information and data collection tools through the questionnaire, interview, and practical researcher's observation, the study included several topics, and the most important findings and recommendations came out that electronic journalism is interactive and allows the public to choose between sound, image, and text with journalistic content. Access to electronic newspapers has also become easier compared to the past. The majority of Syrian students read Syrian and local newspapers more than foreign ones. Among the most important recommendations is the need to pay attention to the content in the electronic press of society and the diversity of this content. Organizing scientific workshops for students on youth issues and their relationship with the media.
