The Border Conflicts and Disputes and Their Impact on Future of Sustainable Development: The Sudan and South Sudan as A Model

    Abstract

    The study dealt with the issues of the border dispute and conflict between Sudan and South Sudan and its impact on sustainable development between the two countries, and to determine its development and its impact on the structure of society throughout the long history of Sudan. It is also an attempt to study the social, cultural, economic and political effects caused by those struggles and conflicts, which led to the separation of south of the Sudan from its north. The paper aims at confirming that the border issues between Sudan and South Sudan cannot be resolved through political practices because the lifestyle on the borders in the south differs from the rest of the parts of Sudan, where tribal and ethnic overlapping has produced a different reality that cannot be bypassed, and these complications are due to the deterioration of development factors. In all its constructive forms, it will continue for a long time if it is not transcended. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method to find out the repercussions of this conflict on the coexistence between the components of the two states after the separation.
