    Abstract

     The study aimed to discover the patterns of the negative father image in the contemporary Egyptian and Gulf feminist novel, and to monitor its relations with the rest of the characters to reveal those negative patterns of the father in the Arab society. Hence, the researcher’s aim was to reveal “the negative image of the father in contemporary Egyptian and Gulf feminist novels, in the period between 2000 and 2015. It is a comparative analytical study, in which the researcher used the descriptive analytical method, and he chose a deliberate sample of 14 feminist novels that dealt with the image of the father. The study represented the most prominent negative characteristics of the father's image in the Egyptian and Gulf feminist novels as follows: the hated father, the unjust father, the cruel father, the reactionary father, the authoritarian father. And that the authoritarian tendency of fathers in large Gulf families is stronger than that of fathers in small families.The problem of the feminist novelist is not with the "father" himself, but with the image produced by the cultural legacies prevalent in the patriarchal society.

      Dr. Abdel Salam Sayed Mohamed Abdel Rahman, known as: Dr. Abdel Salam Al-Wahati, Egyptian, Dean of the Faculty of Media at the Islamic University of Minnesota, USA, worked as Vice President of the Afro-Asian University, * Professor of Journalism and Digital Media at a number of Arab universities. * Holds 3 PhDs: PhD in Journalism, PhD in Digital Media, and PhD in Art and Literary Criticism with first class honors. * Has more than (40) published scientific research and books. * Written more than (600) published journalistic and scientific articles. * Participated in and trained in more than (175) training courses and training programs. * Taught (33) courses in the field of journalism and media in a number of Arab and international universities. * Supervised and participated in the discussion of dozens of master's and doctoral theses. * Member of scientific, arbitration and advisory boards for (12) refereed scientific journals. * Participated in no less than (130) scientific seminars and international scientific conferences. * Received awards from the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate. Three times 2012, 2018, 2021 * And awards from many universities and certificates of appreciation, and was honored by international bodies and organizations. * Member of the Arab Journalists Union since 1994 until now. * Member of the International Federation of Journalists since 1994 * Member of the Egyptian and Arab Publishers Union 2023. .. Worked as Dean of the Faculty of Media at Suleiman International University. He worked at the Northern Border University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Head of the Public Relations and Media Department at the Northern Border University and Editor-in-Chief of the University's Echoes Newspaper and in the Communication Skills Department at the University's Community College. He worked as Head of the Digital Media Department at the Islamic University of Minnesota, Head of the Journalism and Electronic Media Department at Sulaiman International University, Dean of the Sulaiman International Academy, and Professor of Media at Aalborg Academy. He previously worked as a professional journalist since 1994 and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Haqiqa Newspaper, Egypt 2009 and an editorial consultant for Al-Ahrar Newspaper, Egypt - Regional Journalism Trainer, Journalists Without Borders Association, Egypt 2009-2011 - Writer and correspondent for a number of Arab newspapers and magazines. He received certificates of appreciation from the Investment in the Future Program, Free Voice Netherlands 2008 Certificates of appreciation from the Northern Border University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2013 Secretary-General of Journalists Without Borders Organization from 2007-2018
